1.Prepare what you need for your application

Please check the Application Guide or Entrance examination Guideline from the page below and prepare what you need for your application.

(Before the application period begins, please download the application guide for your program and major, as well as the entrance examination information, from “2. Application Guide,” and review them carefully.)

【Face photo data】
A face photo must be uploaded to the WEB Application System. This photo will be used for identity verification on the day of the examination and for your Student ID Card upon admission. Please ensure the photo adheres to the conditions specified below.

The photo must be clear and taken within the past three months, showing the applicant alone from the upper body facing forward, against a plain background. (Image file / JPEG only.)

- The entire head should be within the frame of the photo.
- No hats, masks, scarves, sunglasses, or earphones (including wireless).
- Eyes must be clearly visible (avoid hair covering the eyes).
- The expression should be neutral, without visible teeth or a wide smile.
- No poses such as peace signs.
- The photo should not be tilted (photos taken at an angle are not acceptable).

[Note]
This will be used for your examination admission card and used for identity verification during the entrance examination. Do not edit or retouch the photograph data. Failure to verify your identity may result in disqualification.

2. Enter the necessary information into the WEB Application System to create your application form

After you press [Create Application Form] button, you may not be able to change the contents entered.

After clicking the [Create Application Form] button, please save the application form as a PDF. The PDF will contain the key information from all the details you have entered.

Please also save the “Transfer Request Form”as a PDF.

Applicants who are exempt from submitting a foreign language (English) exam score due to a pre-application review or exemption from the first-stage examination for the doctoral program should enter the following information in the form「外国語試験(英語)」(Foreign Languages (English) Examinations):

3.Upload all the necessary documents on the Web Application System

Completion of the application form alone is insufficient; the application will not be considered complete unless you upload all required documents by the deadline.

During the application period, log in to My Page to upload the required documents by the application deadline.

Please note that you cannot confirm your application if all required documents have not been uploaded or if the application deadline has passed. Please note that applications will not be accepted if the application process remains incomplete after the deadline has passed.

You can still modify your application, change submitted documents or cancel your application until the application deadline, even after confirming your application.

Multiple registrations are prohibited. In case you have registered more than one application and obtained more than one receipt number, cancel all except for the one you will use for your application on My Page.

No documents need to be submitted by postal mail or email in addition to the online upload.

To prevent any inconvenience caused by unexpected system issues, applicants are advised to review and complete the document upload as soon as possible.

〇Preparation Method and Acceptable File Formats for Electronic Submissions

Except for face photograph data, please scan the required certificates and other documents using a scanner or equivalent device and upload them in PDF format.

〇 Pay your examination fee

Payment must be made by one of the following payment methods: payment at a convenience store, Pay-easy-compliant ATM, Pay-easy-compliant Internet Bank, Internet-only Bank, or credit card.

In all cases, any transfer or payment fees are the responsibility of the applicant.

【In the Case of Bank Transfer】

After completing “Application Form,” please fill in the required information on the “検定料振込依頼書 Transfer Request Form(医学系研究科)” saved as a PDF (or downloaded from your My Page), and make the payment at a nearby financial institution (excluding Japan Post Bank / post offices).
Please note: Do not use ATMs or internet banking for payment, except when using designated methods through Pay-easy-compatible ATMs, Pay-easy-compatible online banking, or online-only banks.

At the time of payment, you will receive a Bank Transfer Receipt (Form B) and a Certificate of Bank Transfer Payment (Form C).
Please upload the Certificate of Bank Transfer Payment (Form C) via your My Page.

The Bank Transfer Receipt (Form B) serves as your official receipt, so please keep it in a safe place.
Important: If you use Japan Post Bank, post offices, ATMs, or internet banking, a Certificate of Bank Transfer Payment (Form C) will not be issued. Therefore, such methods must not be used.

【In the Case of Payment via Pay-easy-compatible ATM, Pay-easy-compatible Online Banking, or Online-only Bank】
[In the Case of Payment via Convenience Store or Credit Card]

For payment procedures and important notes, please refer to the separate document titled:"How to pay the examination fee".
After completing the payment, access the “Application Details Inquiry” page of the E-payment website, enter your Customer Number and Date of Birth (as notified upon completion of payment), print the inquiry results, and upload the printout via your My Page.

**ATTENTION**  Examination Fee Waiver
The examination fee is waived for the applicants listed below. Please be careful not to make any unnecessary payments.

・International students holding a Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship.
・Applicants for the Doctoral Program (International Health) [October 2026 admission] who are expected to obtain a Master's degree or Professional degree from the University of Tokyo in September 2026.
・Applicants for the Doctoral Program in Medicine ,the Doctoral Program (Health Sciences and Nursing) or the Doctoral Program (International Health) [April 2027 admission] who are expected to obtain a Master's or Professional degree from the University of Tokyo in March 2027.
